Since doing video production since 1996 with Infinity Vision, I have compiled this list of general information and tips for those new to video production.
How to compare work
Video companies doing the same level of professional work have fairly comparable pricing. I occasionally refer a bride to other quality companies if I have a date booked and their pricing is usually close to mine. The main difference is generally the style of the production. If the production cost advertised is far under the norm it means corners are being cut. Either professional equipment is not being used, production time is being shortened, no editing is included, unmanned cameras are being used or a combination of the four.
A quality video production is time intensive to do well by any company. This day happens once, don't miss it.
Production time
Infinity Vision offers a specific amount of time with every production because in my experience this is the length of time required for most events. All day productions generally will not greatly increase the value of the production (unless you are having a specific interview portion created), it will usually only increase the cost. I offer additional hours if additional time is desired. I allow this time to be added on the spot.Travel
I do not charge additional travel fees for weddings which take place within 30 miles of downtown Louisville. For other wedding sites, please contact me for additional travel information.Delivery Time
This varies greatly depending on the time of year your wedding takes place. The filming of the event is actually the least time intensive part of the entire process. The editing process can be very time consuming (this is why inexpensive productions often have little editing). Productions are generally completed within six weeks to two months. I usually finish your short video first and this will be available online for viewing by friends, family and yourself before the entire production is completed.Partial videos/packages
If you are interested in only having a part of your wedding filmed such as the ceremony, I can customize this for you. However, filming only the ceremony will not greatly decrease the cost of the production if you are still interested in editing or custom DVDs. The actual filming is a small portion of the entire production process.Editing productions
Occasionally, I will have someone ask if I will edit footage shot by a family member or a company which didn't include editing. Because the editing process takes far longer than the actual filming, I do not recommend spending the money for editing. The footage can often be poorly lite, have poor sound or have additional problems. Editing can not save a production which was not shot properly. Editing can easily end up costing almost as much as an entire professional production.
